Tundra swan in the New Year

Yonago Waterbirds Park is the largest wintering spot of Tundra swan in western Japan.
It was auspicious to be able to see the Tundra swans flying in the new year's day.

The tundra swans fly over to Japn from Siberia, which is 4,000-5,000 kilometers away.

The swans are active in the daytime. They eat at ponds and rice paddies. At night, they come back to Yonago Waterbirds Park to sleep.

The Yonago Mizutori Park has observatory facility called "Nature Center" to document and monitor the ecosystem of over 10,000 waterbirds and wetland. It has many telescopes, and visitors can ask questions to waterbirds instructors.
